Criticising the ICC Prosecutor

Kevin Heller has an interesting post at Opinio Juris on the recent criticism of the ICC Prosecutor by some NGOs. Calls for his removal are certainly premature but I’m amazed at how terribly the Prosecutor mucked up the Lubanga case. Were the confidentiality agreements really necessary to prove their case? And now he’s almost free due to their withholding of information. Not good.

  • Plus Thiessen says advocating for the release of detainees who aren't being charged is a "radical/extremist view".
  • Thiessen says if you use your pro bono time to defend accused people you support their views. This can't be serious.
