China fuelling war in Darfur

The BBC reports that China has been supplying weapons to the Sudanese government in defiance of an arms embargo. Two things to note, first, the almost naive Chinese argument that they told the Sudanese not to use the weapons in Darfur, and two, what does this tell us about the Chinese stance on the UN Security Council?
