ICTR distances itself from Human Rights Watch

Strange news from the ICTR, the Prosecutor has distanced itself from Human Rights Watch claiming that HRW sources are “inadmissible and not very reliable. This is because of the HRW resisting ICTR attempts to move trials to Rwandan courts to fulfil its completion strategy and ignores the fact that the Prosecutor has used HRW sources in virtually all trials.

  • Plus Thiessen says advocating for the release of detainees who aren't being charged is a "radical/extremist view".
  • Thiessen says if you use your pro bono time to defend accused people you support their views. This can't be serious.
