Using corporations as proxies to sue states for rights abuse

At the moment it’s quite hard to hold sovereign states accountable for human rights abuses. It’s much easier to sue corporations. Prof. Alford’s latest article examines using corporations to make states accountable. Basically, by suing corporations hopefully they’ll be motivated to take the state to arbitration under their contract to get compensation for the liability of the human rights abuses.
