Dollars = Happiness (except for high values of $)

Ok, not everything economists say is wrong. Rodrik points out that there is a high degree of correlation between certain levels of wealth and happiness. Though beyond a certain point money doesn’t help much. This really helps with those people who rave, after going to Aceh for two weeks, that “They have so much more than us…in community spirit” – I bet they do, they’d also prefer steady access to clean water and a lower infant mortality rate.
