Expensive Justice at the SCSL

There is trouble at the Special Court for Sierra Leone. The New York Times reports the trial of Charles Taylor alone will cost $4 million, he is demanding $100,000 a month to pay for his representation. It’s such a struggle balancing justice, equity, efficiency and resolution. Especially in a post-conflict environment justice is such a difficult concept to realise.
