Fairtrade and the invisible hand

I’m sure we’ve all had our fair share of first-year commerce students trying to explain to us the wonders of the free market system and how horrible any sort of intervention is. The Transfair USA blog has an interesting post on that very issue, with some good counter-points.

That’s a good blog to keep your eye on too, it’s run by the people who certify fairtrade in the US.
